The Database and GUI Design special interest group is part of HAL-PC, the Houston Area League of PC users. We meet the 2nd Saturday of each month at the HAL-PC offices. The address is 4543 Post Oak Place, Suite 200, Houston, TX.

We use MS Access and SQL Server 2005 for the database portion of the group. These are the only databases that we cover in this user group.

For the GUI side of the SIG, we use Visual Studio 2005. We cover both Windows Forms (Smart Client) and Web forms (ASP.net) using both the full version of Visual Studio and the Express versions. We also cover using Access as a GUI development tool also. The versions of Access that we cover are 2002, 2003 and 2007.
